As the anniversary of Roe vs Wade is commemorated this week, we are reminded that we can not take for granted the rights we have today. Roe v. Wade protected a woman’s right to make decisions about her own health and a person’s right to choose. Last year, Roe v. Wade was overturned by the US Supreme Court. The Illinois Constitution serves as an independent source to protect reproductive decision-making. As a Judge, I am unwavering in supporting the Illinois Constitution.

Women and disenfranchised communities are disproportionately affected by restrictions on healthcare access. Through my consistent work with these communities, I helped support the protection of their rights in all respects, including their reproductive health. This is why, in both of my last two elections, I have been recognized and endorsed by organizations like Personal Pac.
